The Royal Cheshire County Show is organised by the Cheshire Agricultural Society, founded in 1838 to promote farming, innovation and education. The show once travelled the county, visiting towns such as Stockport, Northwich and Chester, before settling at its permanent showground at Tabley near Knutsford. It was granted the Royal title in 2016, and 2027 marks its 189th year.
Visitors can expect competitions for cattle, sheep, pigs, goats and horses, show jumping, heavy horse displays and a Grand Parade of prize winners. There is a Food Village with local produce and cookery demonstrations, main arena entertainment such as stunt riding, falconry and dog agility, rural skills including sheep shearing and dry-stone walling, plus WI and craft marquees, a funfair and family activities.
The showground sits just off the A556 about 1.5 miles from junction 19 of the M6, with shuttle services from Knutsford. Early bird tickets for 2027 are already on sale through the show's own ticketing site.
