One of the UK's longest running music festivals returns for the 55th year with another great line-up.

Oxfordshire's Towersey Festival returns with another great line-up. Acts set to appear at the 55th edition include: (Fri) Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel, The Unthanks, Fisherman’s Friends and Beans On Toast; (Sat) Newton Faulkner, From The Jam, Oysterband, Will Varley, Catrin Finch and Seckou Keita, Rusty Shackle, The UFQ; (Sun) The Selecter, Hothouse Flowers, Seth Lakeman, Steve Knightly, Elephant Sessions; (Mon) The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, The Conservatoire Folk Ensemble, The Dung Beatles, Sam Kelly and The Lost Boys. Monday afternoon also sees a very special concert dedicated to the memory of Towersey patron, singer and activist, Roy Bailey. Roy Remembered: A Celebration of the Life and Times of Roy Bailey features a host of conemporary acts paying tribute to the great man, including Tom Robinson, Martin Simpson, Andy Cutting, John Kirkpatrick, The Wilson Family, Boff Whalley (Chumbawamba), and Stephen Taberner (The Spooky Men’s Chorale). Alongside the music stages, the festival also features dedicated activities for younger festival-goers (All About Children and a new Youth programme), 48hrs of ceilidh and dance sessions, workshops, roaming performers, street theatre, spoken word and film screenings, plus well-stocked real ale bars and street food vendors.
