A foodie event on the golden sands of St Ives.
St Ives Food and Drink Festival, supported by Carbis Bay Holidays, will take place on the golden sands of Porthminster Beach this May. Welcoming top chefs and local music acts, the Festival will remove its daytime entry fee for the first time in 2019 to allow more people to experience the annual foodie celebrations. Then there’ll be live music events in the evening, which will be ticketed. The Festival regularly welcomes top celebrity chefs to the stage alongside homegrown Cornish talent and in 2018 included demonstrations from Masterchef winner Jane Devonshire, Michelin Star chef Simon Hulstone and the renowned Romy Gill and Helen Goh. For 2019 there’ll also be new daytime content harnessing the unique artistic heritage of St Ives, more family fun, an artisan local produce market and lots of street food to enjoy. Then in the evenings there’s a new venue in town. The Lighthouse Stage presented by Harbour Hotels is a new and undercover venue overlooking the dreamy view of St Ives Bay and Godrevy Lighthouse. Friday night kicks the festival off with the Opening Party, featuring an exciting live show from Daytoner Live and DJ set by Jelly Jazz, the grand daddy of the funk and jazz scene. Groove the night away on Saturday with the wildly eclectic Tankus the Henge and their spectacular performance. And party with the legends of Queen at the Sunday night Closing Party as Cornish tribute act The Good Old Fashioned Lover Boys roll into town.
